Absinthe Glass – Pontarlier Bistro
Alambika is proud to finally be able to offer the Pontarlier Bistro absinthe glass model. Large, heavy and strong, this is arguably the typical glass many enthusiasts have in mind and consider “real glass”.
Made in France by the house of La Rochère, the Pontarlier Bistro glass is the model of thick glass that you could find at all the good cafes in the area serving absinthe in the early 20th century. This glass is manufactured in a less traditional way, which allows to have a standardized and always equal glass since it is designed in molded glass.
The attribution of the name “Pontarlier” to this glass format originates from an advertising panel made from a painting by Charles Maire, a local painter.
