The Motoron M2T550 Dual I2C Motor Controller (Header Pins Soldered) is a compact device designed to control two DC motors via an I²C interface. It is possible to connect multiple Motoron controllers to the same I²C bus, thereby facilitating the expansion of a system with additional motors. The M2T550 is compatible with motor supply voltages ranging from 1.8 V to 22 V and is capable of delivering continuous output currents of up to 1.6 A per motor. This particular model comes with pre-soldered headers.
Measuring 0.6 x 0.8 inches, it is compatible with motor supply voltages from 1.8 V to 22 V and can deliver continuous output currents up to 1.6 A per motor. It is possible to configure multiple Motoron controllers to operate on a single I²C or serial bus, thereby enabling independent control of numerous motors. Unlike many motor drivers, the Motoron does not necessitate any PWM outputs or timers on the microcontroller. Instead, a single I²C or UART interface is sufficient, regardless of the number of Motoron controllers connected.
The M2T550 model features an I²C interface and comes with pre-soldered headers. It is equipped with two motor control channels, allowing for independent control of up to two bidirectional brushed DC motors per Motoron.
The device supports a wide motor supply voltage range of 1.8 V to 22 V (absolute maximum) and a maximum output current per motor of 1.6 A continuous, peaking at 5 A for less than one second. It also includes reverse-voltage protection on the motor power supply (down to -20 V) and a logic voltage range of 3.0 V to 4.9 V (5V nominal not recommended).
